Google has announced another version of its Android operating system
called Jelly Bean. The third version of the mobile operating system, called
Android 4.3, is though not a revolutionary update, it does bring some
new features that promise to improve the overall user experience.
Here are some important facts you need to know about the all new Android OS:
Improved Gaming: OpenGL ES 3.0 has been integrated into Android 4.3, which will enable developers to come up with 3D gaming apps with more details and better images.
Restricted Profiles: Google has introduced its Restricted Profiles feature with Android 4.3. Now you can create a separate profile in your tablet, which will have access to only the apps that you pick. This will also give you control over location tracking and in-app purchases.
Low Power Bluetooth Support: Android 4.3 brings support for Bluetooth Smart and AVRCP standards. While the former is meant for low-power devices like medical gadgets and smartwatches, the latter is used for controlling electronics like TVs and showing metadata from music tracks etc.
High-quality Content Streaming: With Android 4.3, media apps can integrate DRM feature, thus providing access to high-quality content streaming
Notifications: Apps will be able to relay notifications to smartwatches and digital health monitors as they pop up on your Android 4.3 device.
Dialpad Auto Complete: Android 4.3 introduces native support for dialpad autocomplete, a feature that suggests names of contacts as they type a number in the Dialler. This feature is already present in many Android phones due to tweaks by manufacturers.
Other features: Android 4.3 also brings improved multitasking, support for new languages, simplified setup, a Disabled Apps tab and lower latency input for gamepad buttons and joysticks.
Launch of New Version: The next-generation of Google’s popular Nexus 7 tablet, Nexus 7 2, will come pre-installed with Android 4.3, while gadgets like Nexus 4, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 have already started receiving the latest update. The recently unveiled Google Play versions of HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 will also receive the new OS soon.
